WILL COLOIDAL SILVER TURN ME BLUE?

I had someone ask me about colloidal silver.  They had read all this negative stuff about it, such as turning the skin blue.

Well, I have used colloidal silver for 30 years, and, no I am not blue.  Is it possible? Yes, it is possible.  A popular example is this guy who turned blue from taking silver.  HOWEVER, what is NOT told is how much he was taking.  He was making his own, and he mentioned that it was cloudy, and tasted very bitter.  First off, there's a good clue for you.  Colloidal silver should NOT be bitter or cloudy.  This means that it it very strong, and needs to be diluted with distilled water.  Tap water has all these minerals and whatnot that would react with the silver.  Secondly, the guy was drinking 12 ounces 3 or 4 times per day.  That's an extreme amount.  But, for those who read the article about him, he was drinking it for a skin condition, and it helped him.  So, even though he is blue, he continues to drink it.  That should tell you something there; it HAS to be working, or he wouldn't continue to take it.

If you had ever tried colloidal silver, you would have noticed that it is neither cloudy nor bitter.  It is actually clear and pretty much tasteless.  I do prefer to a bottle that is at least 30 ppm to be more effective. I will take 1 to 2 teaspoons 2 or 3 times per day.  It can be sprayed on cuts or sores.  I have put it in my dog's water because it will kill parasites, as well as yeast overgrowth.  I happen to believe that we need to change things up once in awhile.  Our bodies can become acclimated to any supplement.  It is even a good idea to take a break from your vitamins on occasion because they can become ineffective if you take them every day.  I like to use colloidal silver when I have a cold or something or for a brief time, then I will switch to Grapefruit seed Extract or olive leaf extract or oregano extract.

So, just because you've read some negative reviews on something NATURAL, doesn't mean that you should avoid it.  Look at your source, and check other things out.  If it comes from something that is blatantly from the AMA, then I will tend to think that it actually works, and the AMA or big pharma is poo-pooing because it interferes with their gargantuan profits that they want.  Don't fall into the idea that if a little is good, then more must be better.  There a lot of things out there that work better in smaller doses.

So enjoy your good health.

How to Do a Castor Oil Pack

One of the most useful things that I have found in my search for health is the castor oil pack.  This is a health aide that I learned from Edgar Cayce's material, and I had done them years ago, but did not notice a huge change.  I had always suffered with constipation, and nothing seemed to work except for laxatives, but I didn't want to rely on them.  Then, one day I got the book The Oil That Heals by Dr. William McGarey who started the A.R.E. Clinic in Phoenix, Arizona.  He did a lot of research and used castor oil for a lot of things; i.e. skin cancer, muscle pain, as well as the pack.  He mentioned that it could take up to a year to get any lasting results, so I asked my body how many weeks that I needed to do the protocol, and my answer was 16 weeks.  So, I followed the protocol, and I haven't had the chronic constipation since.  I always had issues with food cravings; one week would be salty chips, and another would be sweets.  Originally, I attributed this to menstrual hormones, then, when I went through menopause, and still had cravings, I didn't know what to do. Well, low and behold, after I did my packs, my cravings were gone.  At first, I thought that it had to do with the liver, but, since the main protocol, I had done packs just over the right side of my abdomen.  And, guess what? My cravings came back, but the packs didn't seem to make a difference this time.  Then, it occurred to me that I had, orginally, covered my whole abdomen, (actually from the neck down). So, I realized that I had covered my pancreas as well, and this is why I wasn't craving sugar anymore.  Salty foods?  I had treated my adrenals as well without realizing it.  When a body is stressed, salt can help the adrenals, sea salt not regular table salt; the chemicals in regular salt are not good for us, and check labels, I have found sea salt and kosher salt that has been treated with the anti-caking chemicals.  I think that I stay in a state of stress, but not as much as I used to.  Another unexpected outcome of doing the castor oil packs is that my hot flashes totally went away.  I guess that you're wondering why the castor oil pack would help with hot flashes right about now.  Well, I had previously tried the progesterone cream, homeopathic remedies and herbs that didn't seem to make much difference.  If the liver is not working efficiently, the hormones, that would normally be broken down by the liver and excreted, are staying in the body causing the hot flashes.  I've actually helped a few other women who were having problems with hot flashes, and the castor oil packs helped them as well.

Here's what you'll need: shower curtain, cotton flannel or wool flannel, (a friend told me that a 100% cotton T-shirt will work also, plain with no writing or pictures on it), 1 quart bottle of castor oil, enough plastic to cover the abdomen, 1 or 2 towels, and a sheet (these last two items need to be items that you can throw away later because the castor oil will stain them and doesn't come out. If you are doing the packs over several weeks or months, put the pack in a baggie and keep it the refridgerator so that it doesn't go rancid on you.

Here's the protocol.  Put the plastic shower curtain down on a bed, then a sheet over the plastic. Take your pack flannel or T-shirt and start pouring on the castor oil, but do not get it dripping wet; just enough to cover well.  The size of the pack depends on the area to be covered.  You can purchase the size that would cover just the right side of the abdomen over the liver and ascending colon.  If you want to cover the whole abdomen then you will need to cut it out of a plain white flannel sheet or T-shirt, and you will need 2 to 4 layers.  Place the pack over your abdomen, cover with the plastic and one of the towels over the plastic.  Then put your heating pad over the towel.  You want the heating pad to stay on for at least an hour to 1-1/2 hours. The extra towel is to use just in case you get chilled, so this can be a beach-sized towel to cover with.  This is to be done for 3 consecutive days or nights, and the morning after the third night, you take olive oil to stimulate the liver.  You can take 1/4 or 1/2 teaspoon and take some every 3 to 4 hours during this day.  If you know how to ask the body what it needs then do so, or keep doing them until you reach your desired results.  If it's a chronic condition, this can take several months to a year, so don't give up.  I will be doing a video on Youtube in the near future instructing you on how to do this.

What I would do is prepare the bed and leave it for the duration of my protocol.  I would put it on at night and go to sleep with the pack on.  I have a heating pad with the automatic shutoff, so no worries of getting burned.  I found out that the pack would allow me to drift off to sleep right away, and I've always been an insomniac, so an added plus that I wasn't expecting.  The pack will also stimulate the lymphatic system, so you may find the need to tinkle more often.  I actually lost 10 pounds when I did my major pack; another added bonus.  If you really want to keep things working, I would recommend doing the pack every spring or at least every other spring; springtime is an excellent time to do a liver detox, and the castor oil pack will aide in detoxification.

How to Alkalize for Health

With all the chemicals that we are bombarded with, the importance of keeping our inner terrain alkaline is more important than ever.  We have chemical fertilizers that have depleted the soil.  We have chemical cleaners, chemicals in our food supply, and, not least of all, our medications are chemicals.  All of these chemicals make our bodies acidic.

Another thing that makes us acidic is our Standard American Diet (SAD).  We are eating too much meat, too much sugar, and too many other carbohydrate laden foods: grains, potatoes and beans.  Most Americans hardly ever eat any vegetables, and these are what we need to stay healthy.

An easy way to make sure that you're eating plenty of alkalizing foods is to take your plate and fill 75-80% of it with vegetables, and 20-25% with your protein source.  This would be your meat, or a grain and bean combo or grain and nut combo. If you follow this as closely as possible, you will start to notice differences in your body.  You start to have more energy, less pain in your body, fewer and fewer colds and flus and illnesses.  Why does this start to happen?  It happens because viruses, bacteria, fungi and cancer cells cannot live in an alkaline enviroment.  I remember having to take HIV CEU's to keep my massage license current in Florida, and our instructor told us that HIV is really easy to kill outside the body.  Just using soap would kill it.  Guess what?  Soap is very alkalizing.  So, in an acid-filled body system, these bugs can run rampant. I am not recommending that you start tomorrow and eat 3/4 of your diet in veggies.  Some of you may be able to do this, and others can start adding more and more vegetables until you reach your goal.

What are some of the alkalizing foods?  Green, leafy vegetables are the best; the more green, the more alkaline.  Citrus fruits are alkalizing, especially limes, so add more of these to your diet.  Supplements that are alkalizing are the minerals, especially, sodium, potassium, calcium, magnesium and zinc.  Coconut oil is full of minerals, so this is a very important oil to eat a lot of to stay alkaline.  I use coconut oil, olive oil and butter, and that is it.  The other liquid oils are not that great for you.  Just the opposite of what we were being told to be healthy.

A quick and cheap way to alkalize is to drink baking soda in water, or some people recommend putting it in a green drink.  My morning routine is to drink a tall glass of warm water wth the juice of one whole lime, baking soda and liquid minerals.  I use the minerals from Bionativus.  Then, I have a salad or veggie soup with, at least 1/2 an avocado, sometimes, I would use a whole avocado.  I can actually go longer without having a snack by adding the avocado.  I am able to go until 1 pm, if needed, by doing this. Lunch and Dinner can be similar.  In the beginning, you would want to limit friuts bacause of their high sugar content.  Work on eliminating sugar entirely.  I know it's hard to do this if you're around people eating sugar-laden desserts, but do the best that you can.  If I need a chocolate fix, I have 1 or 2 squares of Endangered Species bars; most of these use beet sugar as the sweetner, so not as bad as refined sugar.  Another option is to make my own hot chocolate with almond or coconut milk and sweeten with stevia; these have really helped me to stay on track.

There are many books and sources to check out for more info, i.e., The pH Miracle Living books, Edgar Cayce, and others.  If you want a personal touch, then you can contact me for  a consultation.

The Journey to Health

The journey to health can start with a thousand steps, or as many as a million.  In other words it is a lifelong pursuit for most of us.  Some seem to be endowed with boundless energy and health no matter what they do or eat, and some of us struggle to maintain health all our lives.  Because of my own health issues, I have explored many things which have helped, and I will gladly share these with you as we continue this journey; hopefully, together.  I have found that to really achieve optimal health; it requires a balance of Body, Mind and Spirit.  I will promise to address this Triad in each issue as required. You are very welcome to follow me on this journey.  You are also welcome to ask me to address any health concerns that you may have by leaving a message in the comment section.
As with any journey, we start with baby steps, and the easiest thing is to start with our diet.  Begin by cutting back on sugar.  Start using stevia as a sweetner instead of sugar and instead of the artificial sweetners.  The artificial sweetners cause more problems than they solve. (I will talk about this more in a separate post.)  Begin eating more vegetables, and, especially green leafy vegetables.  Begin to cut back on carbohydrates of all kinds: sugars, as well as bread, pasta, and grains.  Buy as much organic produce as you can afford; locally grown foods are good; and growing your own organic vegetables is even better.  Cut back on caffeine.  One or two cups of caffeine is ok; just don't drink potfuls of coffee or tea or quarts of colas.  Begin to exercise by taking walks every day or working in your organic garden.
When you have a set back, and most of us will, it is important not to beat ourselves up over it.  Enjoy your chocolate cake, or hamburger, or whatever, and start again the following day.  This is one of those important spiritual issues.  We must learn to forgive ourselves, and not be so hard on ourselves if we fail at a task.  Forgive and start again tomorrow.  Another simple thing to do is bless your food.  You can say a prayer before eating, or simply put your hands over your plate and silently think or say, "Thank you for nourishing my body, and I love you.  " Or just say," I love you and thank you."  It all works.  It's our intention behind the prayer that works.

This is a good place to start, and we will add more info for the next post.  So until, next time, be well and be easy on yourself.
